Teams I think have a chance this year are Boston in the East and PHX in the West.

Who is your favorite player on PHX?

The Spurs are going to win it again......Boston will have a chance to win the East but their Def. is not good enough to win it all....Suns won't win because they don't play d.....Watch out for Orlando to go to the finals with the combination of Howard and Lewis..............

Sorry boys, Phoenix is going to do what they did last year. Only difference is this year it will be in Western Finals because they'll be the 2 seed this year instead of the 3...San Antonio beats Detroit (or Orlando) in 5

Ok. Here it is. Boston vs. Phoenix in the Finals. Detroit and San Antonio will get close but its a new day. Lets wait and see.

I also think Howard, from Orlando, may be one of the 3 best players in the NBA right now.

Yeah Howard is probably the best center in the game right now.

I'm just not convinced about Boston. The way they built that team, they're one injury away from a 45 win season. They put all their eggs in the KG, Peirce, and Allen basket with little else to help.

As well, PHX plays no D. Even less this year than last year, which is even hard to believe. And, every time they lose a game in the playoffs they blame the refs. Which says to me that they aren't all that good. But the biggest problem I see with PHX goes back to D. In the playoffs, if you play decent D you can change your game plan from game to game to adjust. PHX can't do that. They're game plan is rebound, outlet to Nash, pass to open guy for a lay in. That's it, that's all they have, they can't change it, nor do they have the roster to change it. They are all runners, not much more.

The PHX Suns will do very well this year. Unfortunately, they will not win the NBA finals until they perfect their D-fence.

the only other proof I can offer as far as the Suns' lack of chance of making it to the finals is this: Those of you that are fans of the Colts and live in Indi should recognize that you can't outscore people and win a championship. Remember the 3 or 4 years before you won the Superbowl last year, when the Colts merely outscored everyone? Great regular seasons and losses in the Conference Championship games. If a team plays D and can get one or two stops that can be, and usually is the difference in a playoff environment. I know it's a different sport but it's the same concept. In the playoffs, it's defensive stops that wins games....

I agree with Matt. A strong D does make the difference. An healthy attitude and presence on D makes a huge difference. Take the example of Bobbbbeeee Sanders #21 of the World Champion Indianapolis Colts. In 2006 when the Colts were in the playoffs (PLAYOFFS-PLAYOFFS!! The Jim Mora funny) Bob Sanders came back from injuries and brought a healty attitude and presence to the D that had been lacking all year. The Colts went from a fair D to a terrific D almost immediately. This propelled the Colts into the Super Bowl and they dominated the Chicago Bears completely.

The Suns need someone besides Nash & A.S. to play D. Come on Suns. We are pulling for you to shake up the WEST...

They do have Raja Bell and Stoudamire is decent. Nash is alright but severely over rated on the defensive end. Their problem is team D. You think they'd defend a pick and roll well because that's the only half-court set they have, so you'd think they see it enough in practice (practice, we're talking about practice!?!; speaking of funny press conferences), but nope. They're really vulnerable to it and vulnerable to any team that has at least one guy who can move with out the ball. Their team D is what is going to kill 'em, and it goes back to coaching. Don't get me wrong, D'Antoni is a good coach, he's great offensive coach but an average coach of fundamentals and defense...

Phoenix is beginning to lose games they shouldn't. What's going on over there? Will they try to aquire a key component that they need to get to the top? Lets hear from you NBA gurus.

Does anyone think the Suns could handle Boston or Detroit from the East if they got to the Finals this year?
